Courses Offered
Lesotho Cooperative College offers a Diploma in Co-operative and Business Management studies at an undergraduate level.
The college also offers short-term training courses that caters for cooperative members and staff to equip them with basic skills
To carry out practically oriented training of low and middle level personnel for the Cooperative Development Department and the Co-operative Movement in Lesotho.
It is also poised to provide basic training for the rural sector in general, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and private sector.
Providing advisory and consultancy services to cooperative enterprises,
the Cooperative Department, NGOs and other rural oriented organizations.
To conduct research on cooperative development and training, microfinance, poverty alleviation, etc
To write and publish cooperative education and other materials to ensure dissemination of proper cooperative education and knowledge to the public generally.
Registration Dates
Students shall be expected to register for the programme on the first week of July. The tuition fee amounts, M2 000.00 for local students and M3 000.00 for non-local students shall be payable prior to registration, while the remaining fee will be payable in installments before the final examinations. Students with outstanding tuition fee balances will not be allowed to write the final examination. Any student who misses the registration deadline will be charged a penalty of M200 for late registration. |

Admission Requirement
Normal entry requirements for a Diploma in Cooperative and Management studies are O’level/COSC certificate with at least Three (3) Credit passes in any of the following subjects: Mathematics, English, Commerce, Accounting/Bookkeeping, Physics, Business Education and Development Studies.
COSC plus a minimum pass with credit for holders of co-operative certificates or certificate in management or accounting or administration from other recognized training institutions within and outside Lesotho.
GCE pass, with at least a pass in four (4) subjects, from a member of registered Co-operative.
All applicants will be required to submit two (2) reference letters and certified copies of official results and/or transcripts.
Fee Structure
Tuition Fee for both local and non-local students will be as follows:
Local students – M4 500.00 per annum
Foreign students – M6 500.00 per annum
Orientation and Commencement of Lectures
Orientation will commence on the last week of July and it is compulsory to all new students. The specific date will be sent to the successful applicants and also announced on the radio station. Classes will commence on the first week of August. |
