The Lesotho Co-operative College has been offering certificate level studies and short term courses from its establishment since 1984. The co-operative business sector has entered a new phase in its development and this brings challenges to the college to transform by introducing new products (courses) to its clientele demands. To overcome some of the challenges, Lesotho Co-op College has introduced Diploma in Co-operative and Business Management Studies (DCBMS). This is a 2 year full time training programme executed in four (4) semesters. It emphasizes four basic areas of training namely:

• Co-operative Development
• Co-operative business management and leadership
• Accounting and Auditing
• Self Employment

   
       
 

The college will draw its trainees from the general public. For instance, those involved in the promotion and development of associations, co-operatives business, NGOs, SMEs and government officials.

The Mission of Lesotho Co-operative College is to provide the best blend of dynamic training, research, consultancy and community interaction which will position us as the center of excellence in co-operatives and business studies in Southern Africa.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

1.1 Introduction: the college offers an undergraduate diploma programme. This page is about general information regarding application/admmission dates, tuition fee etc.

1.2 Admission date: The detailed entry requirements are available in the college's brochure. Prospective applicants may obtain the application forms during the 1st week of May from registry. Deadline for returning the application forms is the 3rd week of July. Admmission will be done during the last week of July.
 
1.3 Tuition Fees: Details about the college's fees and deposits can be obtained on request from the college's registry or as part of the information papers sent to prospective applicants. It should be noted that tuition fees do not include the cost of text books, stationery, medical expenses etc.
 
STAFF

The college is under the general management of the Director and is assisted by the deputy Director. The college has a staff compliment of 11 fulltime lecturers and 2 partime lecturers. It also has non-academic staff members which include Matron, Bursar, Assistant Accountant, Stores officers, Registrar, Librarian, 6 cleaners and a gardner. 
 
DEPARTMENTS

The College has 4 departments namely department of Cooeprative Development and Management headed by Mrs. Mabosiu Seloanyane; department of Accounting and Finance headed by Mr Nt'senki Let'sela; department of Member Education headed by Mrs. 'Malineo Nchephe and department of Research and Consultancy headed by Mr. Justin 'Matli.
 
REGISTRATION

Academic registration is a process by which student (new & returning) officially follow in selecting courses for the programme. The process is carried out at the begining of each academic year which runs from August to May of each calendar year.
 
STUDENT AFFAIRS

Residence: some of the students are accomodated in halls of residence. They are within easy reach of the Library and lecture rooms. The residence halls are under the supervision of the matron. The students are also offered 3 nutritonal meals per day. The cost of accomodation and meals are included in the tuition fee. Student are encouraged to elect their own representative committee.
